Jacob D. Bower

West Point, 2015

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Class of 2015 - The Fuller Family on July 25, 2011:

Our daughter is also a New Cadet at West Point (Class of 2015). We do not yet know if she knew your son personally. However, we do know that she knew the type of person he was -- she along with every other past, present, and future West Point cadet, parent, staff, and alumnae who are members of West Point's extended family. Thousands of us know the strength of his character, the high moral standards and values through which he lived, and the goal he envisioned for his future ... that of making a positive difference in the lives of others.

New Cadet Bower's death is tragic and heartbreaking. Its aftermath will not be a silent passing; it will be felt worldwide by not only his immediate family and friends, but by countless other "family members." We may be unknown by name or ancestry, but we are family nonetheless. We are all heartbroken; we are all in mourning because of the death of this fine young man as if he were our own son. We are proud to have known the type of man he was, and through the collective memories of us all -- both his immediate and extended families -- New Cadet Jacob Bower will never be forgotten. He will live on for generations to come.
