Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dean E. Bower on August 3, 2011:

I've read many of these and I just wanted to thank everyone that took the time to write. This without question has been the most difficult thing we have ever faced. With the help of gods' grace and support from everyone we will get through this tragedy. The only thing remaining is for us to pull together and learn from this. Jacob would want us to continue on but to try our best to follow his lead. He, like many of your children, was a young man of great dedication, courage, and honor. He strived to make a difference and push past himself in hopes of leading this great nation and beyond to resolve. He told us before leaving for West Point that he was going to make us proud and someday he would be in the history books. Jacob my son, you have made me proud every single day of your life. I could not possibly dream up a better son. You undoubtedly would have made a great leader of this country but our lord called you home early to lead his Army, all I can say is "he couldn't have chosen a better man". Rest in peace my son for I'll join you soon and I'll do my best to ensure I'm on your side come judgement day.

Your loving father,

Dean E. Bower
