Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Charles Briseno on January 28, 2012:

There were 160 new cadets that came through Alpha Company and Jacob was one that stuck out. He stuck out because he was a hard worker and put his heart into everything that had in front of him. When it came time to select people for holding the state flag for the 4th of July ceremony and to represent A Co. Jacob was a quick choice. He sat at my table multiple times because his table was full (squads were 10-13 new cadets) and he was very professional and straightforward. I made the trip down to Fairmont to see his family and his hometown. As expected, the enitre town was there for the Bower family and the amount of people he reached out to was amazing. Its such a terrible thing to lose such a great young man ready to take on the world. Jacob has impacted me and my fellow beast cadre in ways that only show true faith in a higher meaning to life and true happiness. I pray for the Bower extended family and I know that he is watching over all of us, as we continue our journey in life.
