Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Richard Regnier on June 26, 2013:

Quent has received final call far sooner than those of us who knew him well would have ever expected. As Tennyson observed: "Tho' much is taken, much abides . . . that which we are, we are." Quent held on the truest of courses throughout life. The man he was abides.

As a cadet Quent was a Star man. In life he was an All Star. His complete devotion to elegant Anna and their family has been inspiring. Conducting himself with consummate skill, diplomacy, and effectiveness, he became a highly successful elevator company chieftain.

Quent imbued with a special sense of joyfulness and camaraderie many shared experiences in Colorado, Utah, and Idaho through 55's West Point Ski Club, as well as abroad in Italy and Peru with 55's Travel Club, and at numerous class reunions and Army football games. He loved to sing cadet songs, spark humor, laugh and go for the gusto (even swimming undaunted in the Amazon River with hot pink dolphins and piranhas - until the first nibble). Quent, top elevator man, elevated us to the top floor of life. He will always abide as a best friend to each of us.

With love and deep gratification from Georgie and me for such an extraordinary classmate. Let us press on as Quent would.
