Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John Sloan on November 17, 2013:

Of course I met and came to appreciate Quent Plebe year, but it was yearling year that I had the privilege of being his room mate. That was the opportunity for me to learn so much from him about his personal qualities and hopefully to gain something from the experience. He was strong (mentally) calm, dedicated, generous, caring, steady, humble, and more. Everyone could count on him being there when needed. Of course he was outstanding academically but never let show. Naturally his leadership made him in later years a star on the basketball court and off it as well. While at Engineer corps officer school I much enjoyed rooming with him again when we rented a house in Alexandria.
Years later I had the further privilege of visiting Quent and Anna at their lovely home near Denver where they insisted on my staying while on business in town. For years I watched from afar as he created an outstanding business in a competitive industry and won renown with it. We were so fortunate to see Quent and Anna at the class party in January, which made his sudden passing all the more shocking.
With very fond memories
