I had the good fortune to share spaces in the tall half of the 1st Regiment with Chuck which led to our being sectioned together numerous times over our four years. But I never got to sit in a seat closer to the section marcher than he did. He brought an a rare sense of humor to plebe year (and beyond) academics; I don't think he ever sweated a math front board like the rest of us. His good humor and ready smile made serving with him a pleasure. God bless you Chuck. Your travails over the past few years have made you most deserving of "the peace that passes all understanding". |
