Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jack Campbell on October 22, 2012:

It was my good luck to be able to call Bulldog my classmate and my friend. He was a great soldier's soldier and served his country with pride throughout an outstanding 33 year military career. He was always ready to jump in and help someone out. He was a doer, not a watcher. He was quite a guy!

I learned on one of his visits to Austin that he was a Master Gardener. Why does that not surprise me?

When he was our Class Vice President and I was one of the lesser Class officers, I got to work closely with him. What a pleasure that was! Bulldog was always ready to lend a hand on any project and when he did, it was a BIG hand.

I think it is significant that whenever I met a grad and told them I was Class of 55, their first question was always,"Do you know Bulldog Drummond?" Jim Darrah called him a "Class Icon" and I think he was right.

Bulldog, we'll miss you. Pop your chest up and Carry on... ~jack
