Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Marlee (LaFrenz) Leavitt on March 23, 2000:

Dear Daddy,

I am 4 years old and we are at the store so you can buy me my first roller skates,

I am 10 years old, we go to the tennis court so you can teach me to play. You were so patient with me and I thought I was great.

I am 15 years old, you come to watch me play tennis on my high school team.

I am 18 years old, you buy me my first car, a shiny red mustang.

I am 20 years old, you walk me down the aisle to start a new life with a young man you take into the family.

I am 22 years old, you are at the hospital beaming at your first grandchild - a beautiful boy.

I am 24 years old and you are there again, proud PAPA of grandson number 2.

I am 27 years old and have moved overseas, you bring Mom to visit after just 5 months because you miss us.

I am 30 years old and we move back home, you are so happy.

I am 33 years old and you are gone...

I had a beautiful life with a wonderful man! I may not know how old I'll be, but I know you'll be waiting with open arms when it's my turn.

I have always loved you daddy and always will, just as I will always be...

--Your little girl.
