Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Elizabeth Dowling on January 20, 2016:

My Grandpa was a hero, a legend, and an amazingly smart and intelligent person. He was serious but had a soft side, he was a leader but also listened to you. He was passionate and a strong believer.

I'm my Grandpa's only Granddaughter and he will be forever my only Grandpa. I look up to my Grandpa wanting to be just like him one day. As I am writing this I hope he is looking over my Mom, Dad, Ofelia, Cato and myself. I hope he has been welcomed into heaven and can be reunited with his son. I love my Grandpa and will miss going on walks with him and Cato, watching cowboy movies with him, visiting him in all the different houses he bought, helping me with my math, eating peanut butter and caramel ice cream for dessert every night, playing with Cato, and all the little things like coming up behind me and trying to scare me. Grandpa, you lived a great life and achieved many things. You didn't deserve to be diagnosed with dementia. You were loving, caring and are an inspiration.

R.I.P Grandpa.
Love, your Granddaughter Elizabeth Dowling
