Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John Wing on September 9, 2010:

Al Sheldon's service was on Friday, 27 March, a beautiful Southern California day, at the Riverside National Cemetery. In attendance were Marlowe Viney and classmate Dave Maurer. It was good to see Marlowe and Dave who knew Al and previously lived in Claremont. He now resides in Montana but, fortunately, was visiting relatives in the area. Helia, Al's widow, and her family appreciated the class wreath and also thanked the USMA folks who who were there. Al's daughter from his first marriage also attended. The service was brief but very well presented by representatives of the VA Cemetary and March Reserve Air Base. Air Force personnel did the honors, presented a flag to Helia and played taps. In short, it was a well conducted and moving cermony.

A brief obituary is attached.
