Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Carl H. McNair, Jr. on May 15, 2009:

I will always remember Ted from our cadet days as a real "hive", ranking in the top 100 in the class, wearing gold stars proudly, and ranking even higher in military aptitude with a key position on the 2d Regiment staff.

Since Ted went Engineers and I into the Infantry and Army Aviation, we did not have an opportunity to serve together on active duty, but following our retirements, we worked together at DynCorp for almost nine years - and enjoyed that new relationship. Ted became an authority on TQM (Total Quality Management) and a "subject matter expert" on quality control in project management. Many of us called on Ted regularly for his advice and assistance. Offered promotions to other projects and other sites within the company, Ted chose to remain in place at his beloved "Engineer" home, Fort Belvoir, until retirement from his second career in 1999.

As he was laid to rest in Winchester, his DynCorp Project Manager (an Annapolis grad) joined us there to render our final salute to Ted and pay our respects to Nancy and the family. Ted was a kind and gentle person, deep in faith, a Christian soldier respected and admired by all. May he now rest in peace in the arms of the Almighty.

In sympathy,

CARL
