I met Ted and Nancy Bishop at Burke Community Church in 1978. They held a Bible study in their home, which I attended weekly. Ted taught the 1st book of Cor. I was going through a very difficult time as a new Christian, and I praise God that they took me under their wings. They gave me a great deal of strength and encouragement - even checking on me when I moved to Florida. I'll never forget Ted telling me that he carried Scripture memory cards with him on his walks. He inspired me to do the same. I memorized the entire book of 1st Peter one year. I still have two pieces of pottery that Nancy gave me. I was lying in my hammock in WV and put their names in Google - wondering where they were and came upon Ted's obituary and funeral pictures. I cried. But I am so thankful for the example he set for me of a true man of God, a man who made sure I knew JESUS as my Savior and Lord. I look forward to seeing him in Heaven.
