Be Thou At Peace

Posted by THOMAS C. WEST on March 19, 2008:

Chappie was my mentor although he didn't know it. All things in life are relative. He was a Corporal and I was a buck ass private. Besides he was much smarter than me. But most of all he was the friendliest and most caring guy I ever knew, always with a smile and a friendly word. Those things meant alot in those young formative years when we we're setting in place our moral and social values. For those in the Class who knew Chappie before we were a Class, you are truly blessed to have known him. My only regret is that we did not serve together during our active years and those of you that did know what I mean that he was truly an Officer and Gentleman.

He will be missed. Be thou at peace Chappie. See you on the other side.

Tommy:)
