I ran across this site by accident. Although, I did not know John personally I have a noteworthy story about him. In the mid-seventies I was working for the Claremont Police Dept here in southern Calif. One day I was on duty strolling along Harvard Ave when a tall gentleman in uniform paused briefly to comment on the fact we shared the same first and last name. We chatted for a few minutes, and went our separate ways. He was a very friendly chap, and I never forgot that encounter all these years later. After reading more of his biography I realized it was the same person I had met that day long ago. Mrs Schick I want to tender my sincere condolences to you & your family over your loss. I will certainly never forget John. This was such an unusual story I felt compelled to share it in here. God Bless, John Schick |
