Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Martha (Marty) Macdonald on February 23, 2018:

Wes was a great friend to Skip and me; we were stationed together, I believe, for our first three assignments. I remember Wes looked at me and apologized when the third was the same... we hung out together all the time and usually at our house. All Army Brats, it is also a coincidence that his Mother dated my Father before they each married someone else.

Wes had a great sense of humor. One early morning when they arrived at our house after a night jump, I asked Wes how he liked jumpimg at night. He said, "Marty, every jump I take is a night jump. I close my eyes when I leave the plane and don't open them until my feet touch the ground".

We had coffee together a couple of years ago, and he was dearly missing his sweet wife. I am glad to think of their being together again, and with Skip in heaven.

A good man.
