Nancy Mae McCrillis

Nancy Mae McCrillis, age 80, of Joplin, Mo., passed away July 24, 2014, following a short illness.

She was born May 21, 1934, in Sault- Ste. Marie, Mich., to Gustav Albin and Pauline Lorraine Hageman Dahlquist.

She was a piano teacher for many years and has taught in several states. She was a member of the American Guild of Organists, member and past president of the National Music Teachers Association, member of LWML-Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, of Joplin.

Nancy married Walter C. McCrillis II on July 9, 1955, in Warwick R.I., and he survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Polly McCrillis-Mach and husband, Rich, Wentworth, Mo., and Lorily McCrillis-Haase and husband, Charles, Kansas City, Kan.; four grandchildren, Eric David Williams, Jacob Walter Bailey, Tess Marie Williams and Lydia Mae Haase; and three great-grandchildren, Eric David Williams II, Nataliya Williams and Analeah Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Diana Mae McCrillis; and her brother, John Dahlquist.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 14, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Joplin, with Pastor Gregory Mech officiating.
