Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Daniel D. Ludwig on May 26, 2011:

I remember Ron McNiven well from our tenure as cadets, for we both lived in South Area, a quadrangle housing five companies, H-1 through M-1. As such, we were likely in classes together also. It was not until 2009 that we made contact again when I found that he had moved away from his home town of Frankenmuth, MI after a serious stroke that he left him handicapped and dependent upon assisted living conditions with no family member nearby. We talked on the phone a few times as he was always glad to hear from classmates. On more than one occasion, Rod expressed his hope that Army would soon win a football game with Navy. I know that his health was not strong, and I kept him in my daily prayers. Be thou at peace, Ron, You have served your Nation and West Point well.
