Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Hank Meetze on May 3, 2012:

John (or "Pass" as he was earlier called) was one of our class armor files, as was I. We attended Armor Officer Basic, Airborne together and then went to our first duty station- Fort Hood. There, he, I and Bob Soper, although in different units, always seemed to get together often at the club. Good natured, humorous and very considerate, he and "Sop" could be coaxed into dog sitting with my boxer "Geronimo" at our off-post apartment. After awhile with them, Geronimo seemed to lose interest in me! I had high regard for John as a friend and classmate but saw him only infrequently as our paths crossed very little after Hood. May you rest in peace, John.
