Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Robert M. Hinrichs, USMA Class of 1955 on July 27, 2001:

Rawleigh Ralls was a classmate and company E-1 mate. We had a lot of fun together as cadets, but were never stationed together in the service. He got out and became a consulting economist and I got out and became a lawyer and then a judge. In about 1990, he came to California to testify at a trial, up in the San Francisco Bay area, as an expert economist. He called and invited Helga and me up for dinner in The City. We of course were happy to see him after many years, and had a great time reminiscing and talking about the antics of trial lawyers. The next day a big bouquet of flowers was delivered to Helga, in a way to arouse maximum suspicion, from her "secret admirer", who later turned out to be Rawleigh. Ever the southern gentleman.
Rest in peace, old friend. You did well.
