Alexander R. "Skip" Macdonald Col. Alexander R. 'Skip' Macdonald marched into Heaven on Sunday, November 23, 2003. He suffered a long illness with courage, faith and selflessness; he was a good soldier to the end. He was a Scotsman, the fourth child of MG and Mrs. John C. Macdonald, a 1955 West Point graduate, an Army Ranger, paratrooper, tanker, physicist, teacher, missionary, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, but most of all, a believer in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Beside stateside assignments, he served in Germany, Korea, Viet-Nam and Argentina. Col. Macdonald had a degree in Nuclear Effects Engineering, and after his 30-year Army career, taught Physics at San Antonio College. He served with Bible Study Fellowship and Rafiki, and taught the Bible in Moshe, Tanzania and Hong Kong, as well as going on mission trips with Christ Church to Mexico and Uganda. He is survived by his wife, Martha H. Macdonald; four children and their families: BG John A. and Col. Anne F. Macdonald, Gina and Karl Brimner, Tory Rasmussen and Clay and Ashley, James and Clarissa Macdonald and Cierra; a sister, Cornelia 'Sudy' Macdonald; and a brother, John 'Scotty' Macdonald. MEMORIAL SERVICE WEDNESDAY AT NOON CHRIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH 510 BELKNAP PLACE with Rev. Chuck Collins officiating. A Reception will follow the Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BSF International, The Fisher House or the Christ Church Missions Committee. Arrangements with Porter Loring Mortuary North.
