Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Col Leslie H. Gilbert (Retired) on August 22, 2012:

Bob and I served together in the Air Mobility Division, Office of Chief of Research and Development (OCRD), Department of the Army in the Pentagon in the 1964-1967 time period. He was the project officer for the Heavy Lift Helicopter Program, as well as a valuable member of the United States Delegation to NATO Panel X (Helicopter Experts). Bob was very professional, personable and dedicated. He and Linda were a great team and a definite plus at social functions. Bob's love of family, friends and horses were forever evident. In recent years (1990s and subsequent) he and I were part of a group of old Army Aviation enthusiasts who met (And still meet) monthly for fellowship and to solve (?) the problems of Army Aviation and the Army in general. He will be missed. He was a good soldier, husband, father and friend. My prayers for Linda and family.
