Services for retired Col. John W. "Jerry" Crancer, 72, of College Station are set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in College Station. Burial will be at College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Col. Crancer died Friday at College Station Medical Center. He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Crancer of College Station; a son and daughter-in-law, John W. III and Catherine Crancer of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa Jenkins Crancer of Nashville, Tenn., Helen Margaret and Steve Schreiner of Wilbraham, Mass., and Ann Elizabeth and Shawn Raborn of La Grange; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth Darrah Hall of Memphis, Tenn., and Rita Jane and Lamar Weaver of Leavenworth, Kan.; and eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in his name to "Our Faith, Our Legacy," c/o St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2541 Earl Rudder Freeway South, College Station, Texas 77840.
