Be Thou At Peace

Posted by PETER FIKARIS on May 3, 2010:

Charley, you have left me with such wonderful memories of years gone by......from the time we were Adjutants in the 2nd Regt together firstie year to the times we spent with you and your gracious wife Vickie when we visited Washington. Your hospitality was unmatched. Of course, not to mention the fact that we were born on the same day, March 3rd and somehow you always managed to call me on our birthday regardless of wherever you were in the world such as your calls from Moscow.Recently you recalled to me how I missed my posting spot on the parade field during Adjutants call at our Graduation parade and how you called out "Greek you're in the wrong spot and , of course the first words out of my mouth were "oh s--t". Somehow I was able to correct this GROSS ERROR without an incident. WHEW!! I would like to mention that you were totally fluent in Russian and this motivated me to better learn the language and I will always be indebted to you for your help in making me proficient in Russian.
Your commitment to the Class as the Scribe will forever be appreciated and you left some giant sized-shoes to be filled and I'm sure Jim Ryan will do a capable job.
Again thank you for the memories..... Angee and I will forever cherish them!!

MAY YOUR MEMORY BE ETERNAL,
THE GREEK
