| In early 1951 on a chilly sidewalk in Newburgh. NY, a group of prep-school guys from nearby Stewart AFB were clustered on a sidewalk in front of Ryan's restaurant, just having a good time. Chuck's voice emerged from the group saying, "Folks, we are the new USMA Class of 1955". That's when he became a class icon, at least in my history book. I'm proud to have known him. |
