Don Philip Rundle Don Philip Rundle, 69, of La Crosse passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at his home in Sun City, Ariz. He was born on Dec. 16, 1932, to Earl C. and Edith (Aird) Rundle in Lawton, N.D. On March 26, 1960, he married Ardys Hazard in the Presbyterian Church in Cooperstown, N.D. Don spent his childhood in Marmath and New England, N.D., graduating from New England High School in 1950. After attending Northwest Prep School in Minneapolis, he entered the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., graduating in 1955. Don served as an officer in the Airborne Infantry for two years in Germany and then settled in Minneapolis. He sold printing equipment for Harris Seybold Co., later moving to Des Moines, Iowa, and Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1970, he bought into a partnership with Jack Glendenning of Inland Printing Co., La Crosse. Don retired from Inland Printing at the end of 1991. He was serving his eighth year on the board of directors with First Federal Savings Bank at the time of his death. Don was a strong supporter of the La Crosse YMCA, having served on several of its boards, including the board of trustees. He was active and held offices in the Coulee Region Kiwanis Club and was a member of First Congregational Church. Throughout his life, Don enjoyed giving his time and knowledge to various organizations. He continued to be interested in North Dakota and enjoyed making frequent trips back to the Rundle Ranch there. He is survived by his wife, Ardys, and four children, Melanie (David Chow) of San Diego, Calif.; Pamela (Douglas) Hein of West Bend, Wis.; Carol (Christopher) Engstrom of London, England; and Robert (Krista Sheesley) of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Samuel and William Hein, and Johana Engstrom; two sisters, Rachel (Richard) Hoovestol of Duluth, Ga.; and Lynne (Alvar) Carlson of Bowling Green, Ohio. Don was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Aird Rundle, and a special aunt, Elinor Aird Rundle. A memorial service will be held in First Congregational Church, La Crosse, in the spring. Memorial suggestions: the La Crosse YMCA, First Congregational Church of La Crosse, or the Chileda Foundation of La Crosse.
