I only knew Bill from four years of football. We were on the C Squad our Plebe year. Bill was one of the unsung heros on B Squad during the next three years ... the guys who scrimmaged against the A Squad to get the Army Team ready for the next game. Bill was one of the Humpties ... guys who loved to play football, who got beat up playing against the varsity in practice, but came back year after year. I read about his distinguished Air Force career and can see he carried that same determination into the sky. Well done... Rest in peace old friend. |
