Be Thou At Peace

My wife, Shirley and I had a long relationship with Paul and his family. We first met when he was stationed at West Point. His wife, Bobby and I were members of the West Point Players. While Paul was in Viet Nam, his wife, Bobby suffered an aneurism. When Paul returned to care for her he needed help with caring for his three young children. My wife, Shirley and I were newlyweds, but we had a good friendship with Paul and his family. We stepped in and cared for the children for a week while Paul was sorting things out. Bobby's recovery was long and she never fully recovered. When she died Paul asked me to do the burial service for her (I am a Deacon in the Roman Catholic church). I pray now that he will rest in peace along his beloved wife. |
