Pete: I will never forget your friendship and our service together as Sunday School teachers a half century ago. While our paths separated when you went Air Force and I chose Infantry and Army Aviation, and you later settled in New York as I spent many years in the Far East. It was always nostalgic to see you at our reunions, remembering those days in the First Regiment long ago. We shared classes from Plebe math on and Sundays with the post children whom we taught, the early chapel march up the hill, then the truck rides to Sunday School and the long walk back to the barracks - an experience never forgotten as we "boned" character for our future leadership responsibilities in the services. May you rest in honored glory among the Saints. Well done, thou good and faithful servant. CARL McNair |
