Back in the beginning when we were plebes together Mike was one of the older guys I looked up to. We were in the same New Cadet Company...the shortest and the best. And he ended up around the corner from our Company in South Area. Still we saw alot of each other over the Cadet years. Then like so many Classmates we parted company at graduation only to be reunited after retirement in the DC area at our monthly luncheons. There they were Frick and Frack...Malooley and Hergenroder, two of the regulars. In spite of all his troubles at the end Mike was always upbeat. Thats why his passing came as a shock to all of us. He rests now in the hallowed ground of Heros in Arlington. Farewell Mike. See you on the other side. Tommy:) |
