I was a PFC in 1st Battle Group, 15th Infantry Reg, 3rd Infantry Division. Lt. Chikalla was the executive officer of the co. I was in. The enlisted men of the company liked him a lot! He had a great sense of humor! One time during a white glove inspection of our barracks , He ran his hand along a window sill, it tipped the stick holding the widow up, and it come down on his hand (it must have hurt like HELL). He said, "That will teach me to put my hand where it does not belong!" We loved him for that !!! "Good night sweet Prince, and flights of angels sing the to thy rest" |
