Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Richard V. Secord on March 10, 2005:

I first met Tom when we roomed together in Beast Barracks, 6th New Cadet Co. We then roomed together in Company M-1 during several different years. In later years we were stationed together in Thailand and at the Pentagon.

Tom was a great officer and a totally dedicated family man. As a cadet I had the honor of spending leave time on several occasions with Tom and his parents in Manchester, NH. I learned a lot about New England and the Irish during these excursions.

I also got to know Tom's steady girl friend (drag) during our stay in South Area. Patricia was a delight then and still is. Pat and Tom's son and daughter and their offspring provided Tom with immeasureable pride and joy throughout his life.

Tom McGrevey was intensely proud of being a West Pointer, and he worked steadily in support of the Academy after retirement from active duty, eapecially in recruitment and preparation of cadet candidates.

Tom is a distinguished member of the Long Gray Line. I will always miss him.

Be Thou At Rest--Well Done!
