Frank LeCates Funeral

Frank LeCates was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery on 18 October 2018. The funeral took place in the morning on a bright fall day. John and Ruth Sloan, Carl McNair (in full uniform) and I represented the Class of '55.

An Air Force honor guard and band led the horse drawn caisson to the gravesite services attended by Frank's wife, Gloria, and his family. The graveside ceremony was the usual Arlington Cemetery crisp, touching military farewell.

A reception at the old Ft. Myer Officer's Club followed, where we had the pleasure of meeting Frank's fine family. Carl delivered Frank's eulogy with passion and good humor.

Frank was a good man and lived a life that brought honor to our class. I wish I had known Frank as a cadet.
