Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dan Dugan on February 14, 2011:

Who could ever forget "Terrible Tom." A terror he was on our Class net and quick to bash any Classmate deemed too PC or for other infractions - with humor, of course.

I had lost track of Tom all of those years after graduation while he served his tour in the USAF. I'm sure that he stepped on some ranking AF toes in those years, because he would not mince any words or opinions about any BS regs or policies.Runts are feisty that way.

We met again in the year 2000 when I went to Charleston for a reunion with my Yokohama High School schoolmates.Tom took me out for a nice visit and lunch with Bob and Rosanne Wray. Bernadette had to go to a funeral and could not come to town with me. She came a couple of days later and Tom picked her up at the airport and brought her out to our dinner at some old antebellum plantation.

Who could forget the tales of Tom's "doggies" and the threat that they posed to interlopers at his place on the river - not to mention the Turner arsenal. Probably a threat to the alligators that resided there, too.

Anyway, Godspeed , Tom. We won't forget you - even if you were a runt.
