Francis Eugene Armour

West Point, 1955

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Sarah A Armour on February 14, 2022:

Frank Ceglowski Armour passed away in his home on February 8, 2022 with family at his bedside. Frank was born on September 21, 1930 in Minot, North Dakota to John and Agnes Ceglowski. He attended and graduated Catholic school where he served as Class President, the "brain of the class" and honorary mischief maker.

Frank was appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, and graduated Class of 1955. While attending West Point, he met the love of his life, Joan (Galligan) Armour. On June 7, 1956 they married in St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw, N.Y. and began their legacy of lifelong love and devotion while he served his Country in the US Army. Later on, he earned an MBA at Rutgers Business School while working full-time to support his family.

Frank and Joan are survived by their four children Frank J. and wife Rose of Brambleton, VA, Sandra Perrotta and husband Ron of High Falls, NY, and Maryellen Armour and Sarah Armour of North Potomac, MD. He was the proud grandfather of Stephen C. Perrotta and Jayden F. Armour as well as several step grand children. He is also survived by his warm and beautiful caregiver Guillaine Djofang, with whom he shared a strong spiritual bond.

Frank and Joan raised their children for the most part in the town of Red Hook, NY in the scenic Hudson Valley. Later in his life, he resided in North Potomac, MD while traveling the world with Joan.

Frank's greatest passions were fishing, travel, and spending time with family. He enjoyed deep thought and spirited political discussions. He had great empathy for the underprivileged and marginalized. He often reminisced about his childhood time on his grandmother's farm in North Dakota, his time at West Point and travels with Joan.

Frank was a quick-witted character who liked to lighten the mood with his quirky sense of humor and kind disposition. He had a warm heart, and he will truly be missed by all those who were blessed to know him. Frank will be interred alongside his wife at West Point Military Academy.
