Obituary

Thomas Joseph Auger, 83, of St. Louis, passed away peacefully on Feb. 15, 2015, after a short illness. Born in Manchester, N.H., on Aug. 24, 1931, he was the son of the late Helen Armstrong Auger and Dr. Ernest Auger.

Tom attended Manchester schools and pursued his childhood dream of becoming a cadet at West Point. He attended New York Military Academy, graduated from United States Military Academy West Point, class of '55, and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in the infantry.

After leaving the Army, he began a long career in human resources and traveled extensively. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Tom is survived by his wife of 25 years, Geraldine S. Auger; six children, Valerie A. Lemay and husband Gary of Meredith, N.H., Peter T. Auger and wife Janet of Nashua, N.H., Paul H. Auger and wife Suzanne of Bow, N.H., Leeann A. Boyle and husband Gregory of Manchester, N.H., Thomas J. Auger II and wife Kathleen of Hampton, N.H., Andrew A. Auger and wife Rebecca of West Chesterfield, N.H.; his 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister Nancy Perkins of Nebraska; along with many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, William Auger, and his two sisters, Marilyn Holmes and Jaqueline Brown. Private family services will be held at a later date.
