Be Thou At Peace

In early September 1950, PVT T. C. West arrived at the USMA Prep School on Stewart AFB. From then until recent years, Tommy was always ready to remind me that his innocence was wiped away through his association with the older cadet candidates such as Bill Parks, C. C. Greene, Bill Maus and me. It always seemed that Tom really and truly enjoyed life. If he ever displayed less than friendliness toward all he met, I never saw it. I believe that all of us are better persons as a result of Tom's presence among us for almost seven decades. He will be missed. Be thou at peace. Bob |
