Richard Lee Hargrove

West Point, 1955

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Carl H. McNair, Jr. on March 25, 2010:

Dick was a true infantryman and patriot, both in and out of uniform for almost six decades of dedicated service, Korea, Vietnam, Europe and many CONUS assignments including our Alma Mater in the Dept of Military Instruction - a model career for a model soldier. But beyond that, he continued that same spirit of service into retirement, instructing and leading young JROTC students in their High School programs, a fitting incubator for future officers. His service as a USMA Admissions representative for 11 years brought many a new cadet to our rock bound highland home.

In sum, Dick Hargrove was a stellar soldier and devoted family man. May he now rest in eternal peace in the arms of the Almighty, remembered by his legions of friends and a loving family.

Soldier On - Dick - you have served our Nation well! We will miss you at our 55th Reunion in May, rendering our salutes in your memory as Company C-2 passes in review.
