Wallace Greene "Ben" Franklin, Jr

FRANKLIN, Wallace Greene "Ben", Jr. , died July 27, 2000 in Dallas, TX. Military graveside service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at Oakwood Cemetery. Born on November 14, 1929 in Tulsa, OK to Wallace G. Franklin and Elma G. Dixon.

A graduate of Cascia Hall High School, Ben graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1955 and went on to serve the 5th Group Special Forces in Germany. After leaving the military he worked for Bache & Co. in Mexico City before returning to Tulsa in 1965. Ben concentrated on construction and real estate development in the Tulsa area. Real estate developments that he completed included Beekman Place, Stone Bridge, Field Stone, Mill Creek Point and Graham-Franklin Industrial Park. Ben moved to the Dallas area in 1989, where he was a commercial real estate broker until his death.

He is survived by: his sisters, Sue F. Ogle of Muskogee, OK and Jane F. Edwards of Edenton, NC; his sons, Charles M. Franklin of Tulsa, Scott C. Franklin of Houston, TX and Brett B. Franklin of Sacramento, CA; and 4 grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to I.A.A. (a charitable foundation for children with severe physical disabilities), 2818 N.
