Buddy, as most folks referred to him, was one of the few in our Class to have the foresight to sign up for Army Aviation right out of West Point and those of us that were lucky enough to do so, had a grand time with Buddy at Gary AFB and Fort Rucker. Our paths didn't cross again til he showed up at Edwards AFB at the army's Flight Test Center. I sold him my car as I was just leaving. My last and most memorable time was with Buddy at the mini reunion we had at Birmingham, which he was one of the major hosts there. In fact he was kind enough to provide the wine for the whole class as was his generous manner. Looking back I wish we had spent more time then but you never know in these matters as I am finding out more often these days. God bless ya' Buddy. I'll see you upstairs when we will have more time to talk and reminisce about the 'old days' and how we changed the world. |
