Benjamin Douglas Roberts, Sr. Benjamin Douglas Roberts, Sr., age 83, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on January 12, 2014. He is survived by his children, Benjamin D. Roberts, Jr., Mary Roberts King and Kenneth J. Roberts; four grandchildren; and brothers, Sam Roberts (Sara) and Norman Roberts (Lynne). He was a graduate of the United States Military Academy, Class of 1955, and proudly served his country in Korea and Vietnam. He was known as Buddy to his family and friends. He was ever optimistic, happy and friendly even during his battle with cancer. There will be a memorial held 2 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian, 3411 Spring Creek Rd, Montevallo, AL 35115; honors will be rendered graveside at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alaat Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Ala |
