Frank Upton Greer, 3rd
Frank Upton Greer III, 68, of 110 Dellwood Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001.
Born in Washington, DC, he was a son of the late General Frank Upton Greer and May Mann Greer. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School, Gainesville, Fla., and the class of 1955, USMA at West Point. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry, Airborne Ranger. He was in sales with Procter & Gamble, Commerce Clearing House and George S. May Co. before retirement and was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Yarborough Greer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Greer and Henk Van Dyk of Greenville and Geni Greer and Charles Whitehouse of Atlanta, Ga.;. two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jess Charles Greer of Taylors, and Frank Upton Greer IV and Dana Pitts Greer of Greenville; two sisters, Gene Plante of Providence, R.I., and Rebecca Ellen Greer of New York City; two brothers, Col. Charles F. Greer, Ret., of Greenville and Gen. Thomas Upton Greer, Ret. of Milledgeville, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Chip and Maybeth Whitehouse, Frank Upton Greer V, and Charlie and Grace Greer.
Memorials may be made to 500 for the Future Youth Group, c/o Joel Shaw, 1 Alpine Way, Greenville, SC 29609.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Park. - Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
