Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Howard Whittaker on October 11, 2016:

Both Bill and I attended the same high school in Arlington, VA, but we didn't know one another. At West Point, we were both in Co. F-1 and roomed together cow and firstie years. I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy during their courtship and spending some memorable times with them on our infrequent weekends away from the academy. Bill was an ideal roommate. Neither of us, nor our third roomie, Ray Gunderson, were on the fast track to leading the free world, but we were enjoying ourselves (as best one could in that environment) and enjoying the company of each other. After graduation, we went our separate ways and with the exception of occasional reunions, seldom met. In retirement, Co. F-1 members bonded more frequently at mini reunions and Bill, Kathy, Leanne and I got together occasionally in Arizona to share our love of dogs and passion for casino gambling. Now, that too is behind us and I can but look back with great fondness to the times we shared and be grateful that I had the good fortune to know Bill Graham.
