| Bill was a companymate in F-1 and a good friend. I'll never forget when Bob Bacon and I were invited by Bill to his home after a football game in Pennsylvania and met his parents. We might have won (or maybe not) as we drank alot of beer - a real treat given the rules at West Point in those days. That night we gave Bill the new nickname of "Boxcar Willie" - can't remember why. What I do remember is that he was one heck of a great guy and it was a real loss to all of us who knew him when he died in an F-100 accident. Rest in Peace. |
