I had the pleasure of rooming with Roger Root for a semester when we were in Cadet Company B-l. Roger was a good-humored, highly intelligent young man with enormous tolerance for me, a Cadet who didn't "get it," either academically or militarily, as quickly as he did. My remembrance of Roger is of his broad smile, his calm acceptance of life's sometimes strange ways, and his ability to solve the day-to-day problems that visited themselves on us. A fine Cadet and a good, good man. |
