Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Toby Atkinson on August 19, 2007:

In sending this, I am aware that it is more for me than for you. I will miss our contacts via email, phone, or in person and it is difficult to let go. I have always been proud and glad that we were cousins, except of course when we were teens and you thought you were smarter than me because you were a few months older! It has been wonderful staying in touch through the years and knowing your pride and love in your precious Ruth, your sons, grandsons and their mothers. You have always been a person of integrity and faithfulness. We have even shared some painful experiences along with all of the joys. Even though I did not have the opportunity to say 'goodbye', if I had been present during your last earthly days, I think I would have told you that I love you and hope to see you later. I am so in hopes that you are at peace, in full health, and swapping stories with the comrades and family who would have been there to greet you. I am so glad that my Jenny fell so in love with the Pacific northwest and took me out there so that we got an opportunity to spend a bit of time with you and your family. I will stay in touch with Ruth and your boys. I love you now and always will. Cousin Toby
