| I was a cadet in COL Valence's math class at West Point. He was very demanding then, just as he was when I later served as his S-1 when he commanded the 1/10 Inf at Fort Carson in 1970. I am saddened to learn of his death in '02, but honored to have been stretched by his high standards. Duty Honor Country. Be thou at peace, Colonel. |
