Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Ken Lang, for Frederic J. Brown on February 18, 2006:

Nancy:

Your father was one of the most important "rebuilders" of your Army
after VietNam. We were together at Ft Monroe in 1981,82. He in
charge of developing the doctrine how the Army fights, I for the
development of training. So we worked together quite often.

He was brilliant. It is difficult to overstate his role as an
architect of both concept and practice for what was described as
"AirLand Battle". His role has been memorialized in the naming of a
principal conference room in that major Army headquarters - the
Morelli Conference Room. A singular honor - unique as far as I know.

When Army rebuilding had to be explained to senior Congressional
leaders, such as Newt Gingrich, General Donn Starry the TRADOC
Commander called on him.

We all grieved at his passing - as a friend, and as a superb
professional in America's Army
