West Point, 1956

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dencio Acop USMA 1983 on April 6, 2012:

That was a touching Eulogy delivered yesterday by Secretary Greg Vigilar '53 on behalf of the West Point Society of the Philippines for the late Colonel Joven Gascon Villanos '56 with inputs from Sirs Joe Dado '55, Louie San Andres '57, Pete Baraoidan '59, and Ramon Ong '63. Appropriate military honors were rendered our fallen brother in arms and the Philippine flag that was wrapped around his casket was presented to Mrs Julieta Villanos by a grateful nation. Colonel Villanos had honorably served his country for 34 years. Be thou at peace.

A blessed and meaningful Holy Week everyone! The commemoration of the Lord's passion, death, and resurrection regularly reminds us about the price paid that we too may conquer sin and death and partake of eternal life at the end of our earthly lives.

Duty - Honor - Country
