You will not find a more perfect combination of Gentleman and Soldier then Dick Tripp. When others around him were running in circles, Dick, in his quiet efficient way, was methodically getting the job done! Dick's dry humor and appropriate remarks were always the hit of our parties! And boy...did we party when we all served together as Lieutenants both in the 82nd Abn Div and the Airborne Brigade of the 8th Inf Div in Mainz Germany. There was a special family bond forged by many of our class serving together in the Airborne during the first five years after our graduation. Dick served his God, his Country and his Family well in his life on this earth. I shall miss him. Grip Hands. George J Stapleton |
