I am deeply saddened at this news. Dick and I were on the gymnastics team together for four years, and he was always a wonderful guy to be with. Quiet and thoughtful, but with a keen sense of humor, he often came up with impromptu one-liners that made us laugh and enjoy ourselves immensely. Dick was a champion on the pommel horse and a mainstay of our team. We could always count on him to be steady under considerable pressure, and he came through time and time again. The prayers of our family are with his family. I hope it comforts them to know how much I admired and enjoyed Dick. May God bless him, and God be with you. Bill Haponski |
